Fiend - Knee's Deep

This guy held me down in college down south! Seriously! If you went to an HBCU or a school in the ACC, SEC or SWAC you liked FIEND!

Video: Consequence f. John Legend & Kanye West, “Whatever U Want’

I forget this guy exists sometimes, mainly because he ruined what could of been an amazing ATCQ album in the 90's. Just listen to Kanye & John's parts.

Cormega – Make It Clear (produced by DJ Premier) & Album Sampler

Cormega is like Alicia Keys to me. Yes, Alicia Keys. I know you're reading like how the fuck is Mega Montana like A.Keys, well I'll put it like this. Alicia Keys has released at least 100 songs, I like about 4 of them, but those 4 songs are as good as any songs out in the past 10 years. I feel the same way about Cormega, when he is on, he is ON! This is no different.

Cormega - Born & Raised (Sampler)

New Money - Royce Da 5'9" & Street-Hop album SAMPLER

I've had this song for weeks! My bad for just now sharing it. This shit is my theme song. Not sure if it's actually produced by DJ Premier, but he is EXECUTIVE PRODUCING Royce's next album (Street Hop).

Cory Gunz, DJ Drama & DJ Head Debiase – Heir To The Throne [Mixtape]

Swiped from OnSmash!

26 tracks of nothing but Cory Gunz compiled by Mr. Thanksgiving DJ Drama & DJ Head Debiase. Another Gangsta Grizzillz presentation. Sadly to say this tape comes a little late, seeing as how he graced that XXL: Top of The Class cover almost a year ago. Better late than never I guess. The tape is definitely something for the streets though.

Karriem Riggins - Music Kaleidoscope

I think this is the same Karriem from "A Black Girl Named Becky" from the late 90's, but do not hold me to that statement. Either way this is very very good music.

Goodie Mob reunion - Intro

Are you f*cking serious? They did not come out doing Goodie Bag! If you do not go ape-shit watching this video never come back to this bullsh*t azz blog again.

- Jay

Julian Casablancas - 11th Dimension

I just so happened to be in a mood to listen to The Strokes & by chance landed on Julian Casablancas' myspace page. He has a solo album coming soon by the name of "Phrazes for the Young"...well proof here is SO FAR SO GOOD.

Stream: Julian Casablancas, “11th Dimension”

Tinariwen - “Lulla”

I don't know much about Tinariwen but this song reminds me of "Baggara" music of Sudan & Chad, but more Americanized. Funny because this was recorded in Mali, which is not westernized at all. Maybe it's just me, either way take a look/listen.

João Orecchia - Midnight Serenade, Play Pretend (ft. Spoek Mathambo)

Cockygold is No stranger to South Africa's Spoek Mathambo, he's been featured more than once here. But today we bring you another artist from South Africa, João Orecchia. João's sound is somewhat of an eclectic 80's electro sound, I actually would of never guessed that he was from Johannesburg. I can see João being VERY big in Germany and Finland, hell most of Europe. I liked these two songs so I figure I'd share them with you. Check em out.

Hands and Feet will be released by on November 10, 2009 by Other Electricities and features contributions from members of BLK JKS (Secretly Canadian), Serengeti (Anticon, Audio 8) and Spoek Mathambo (of Sweat.X and Playdoe).

The Black Keys – Ain’t Nothing Like You (Feat. Mos Def & Jim Jones)

Over the weekend, Billboard reported The Black Keys to be releasing a new album on Black Friday (November 27th), featuring some of hip-hop’s greats. This is the first track to surface from the project. You can watch a trailer at Blakroc. On paper 2 blues musicians + Mos Def makes sense, but adding Jim Jones is CRAZY. Well in this case crazy is good because this is an awesome song.

Quentin Harris: Live from Sunday Best

First I would like to say thank you to Sunday Best for giving GREAT dance music to club goers all over the world from Brooklyn to Bangkok. I really dig what those guys are doing in BK. This mix is by one of my FAVORITE producers in all of music Quentin Harris! Check the youtube video of Quentin doing his thing at Sunday Best, I truly believe that house music leaves you with an energy unmatched by ANY musical genre.

Raekwon & The L.A. Leakers - Only Built 4 Cuban Leaks.

Please do not let this annoying cover stop you from downloading this mix. It's some classic Raekwon & Wu-Tang cuts, but not only that Raekwon gives a story of how certain songs were made (He's hosting this), which is VERY interesting.

Camp Lo - Another Heist (Produced by Ski Beatz)

I've had this for a while I just forgot about it. Now that is not to say because it's not good because it is, I've just been busy. Just saw Camp Lo live this past week, they still got it!

While many say that The LO are back, over here they NEVER left. I even think Ski Beatz is rhyming on this joint. Ski produced Lucini by Camp Lo, but he's probably better known as Jay-Z's producer.

Camp Lo's new album Another Heist will be out before winter...stay tuned!

Devil's Pie Presents- UK Soul Tribute

Download here!

Swiped from Tresvanty.

This was made live but the quality is very GOOD. I would recommend this for someone born in the 70's or early 80's, all the stuff your mom & dad played while you were a child (that's from the UK) is on here. The Billy Ocean song along with Junior's "Mama Used To Say" took me back. Nothing else really needs to be said, but trust me, its FIRE.

Qee x Reservoir Dogs

I honestly could not call this a good investment for these trying times, but its damn sure a fun one. In collaboration with Lionsgate, TOY2R has put together an “inspired by” assortment based on the look, theme and classic moments from Quentin Tarantino’s debut 1992 film, Reservoir Dogs.

My only question is once you buy these what do you do with them? Keep them in the box, or like play with them like action figures? Either way I think this is a cool idea. I'm shocked that their isn't a band that dresses like this, oh well.

Blu Jemz: BEAT MACHINE

Blu Jemz:

"Over the years as my music collection has grown in size and taste, only one part of it has remained an obsession - the beats. Wether it was the tapes my friends and i used to trade full of our latest heat, the records that gave my favortite producers the spotlight, or the cd's floating around industry circles, nothing is more satisfying for me than a good collection of beats. Beat Machine collects instrumentals from some of my favorite heads around the world. Bang it in the ride, get your freestyle on, or just cool out and listen."

Native Shoes Spring/Summer 2010 Collection

I instantly loved the idea/concept of these shoes the moment I saw them on HS. I swear Tommy or Ralph did these once in the 90's, but pretty much failed. Well Native Shoes has not failed, I guess the concept was to recreate fashion in the same material as CROCS. Mission accomplished, because these shoes are not cheesy like the ones I vaguely remember from the 90s. My favorite is the all-black Stan Smith model called the Wordsmith, they also have a Wally type and a Vans replica.

First here is a Mixtape called the BabyGrande recordings. Actually these songs are cuts from when he was signed with BabyGrande but a few of them are from the Icewater Album & one is even from The 5% album by Lord Jamar.
