Hopefully this band awesome band from Los Angeles, CA Fool's Gold will help you get your mind off the great Michael Jackson. DJ Ayres' Michael Jackson Mix MP3
Swiped from FADER
Since you are now concurrently overwhelmed by and fiending for a refresher course/memory wax on the dearly departed King of Pop, you should revisit the Michael Jackson mix DJ Ayres made for Brooklyn radio last year. It spans Jackson's whole musical life, which essentially began when he was a little badass baby. Literally no kid star will ever be that talented. It's chronological, from "I Wanna Be Where You Are" to "I Can't Help It," "Say Say Say" to "Remember the Time" to "Butterflies." Rest in peace to a genius.

P & The Yessirs
download
Originally released in 2007, this album has been somewhat difficult to find. This was done as a fun project by The Roots drummer/producer/mouth piece...?uestLove but to most people it is better than the original "In My Mind" done by Pharrell.
And here is a video showing the making of the project.

Nipsey Hussle - DIAMONDS (featuring Notorious B.I.G.)
This track is so smooth/gangsta, reminds of of something Tha Dogg Pound would of made in the mid 90's (before they got corny).

Moon Baker - Stay [prod. Nicolay] | FREE DOWNLOADS
Swiped from Nicolay Music.
Around 1995, I was playing bass in a Dutch P-Funk outfit called Groovin' Pict. It would be an understatement to say that I could write a book about the many adventures of this group and its various formations, but that is a different story altogether. Back then, one of our rival bands had a new female singer called Moon Baker, who was both gorgeous and incredibly talented, and after hearing and seeing her in action, we all knew that we had to get her to join our ranks. To our delight, we were eventually able to persuade her to come sing with us, and Moon and I ended up playing music together in different configurations of the group until around the year 2000.
Fast forward to 2004. Moon called me up one day and told me she was at long last going to start working on her solo debut, and she wanted me to be the album's main producer. Over the course of two years, we worked on and off on writing, arranging and recording her album, titled "ABC Of Romance". It was released in 2007 by Supertracks Records, and knowing that, the term 'Off The Shelf' should not be taken literally in this particular context. However, I think that the release was limited to The Netherlands, Germany and Japan, so I don't think you'll mind if I drop one of my favourite songs that we did together, "Stay". If you like this track, you can find the full Moon Baker album "ABC Of Romance" on iTunes, Amazon and CD Universe.
Not only is she a phenomenal singer, but Moon is an amazingly humble, down-to-earth and sweet person. In my opinion, she hasn't yet gotten the full recognition that she deserves. I'll continue to do whatever I can do on my end to change that. If you dig the music, make sure that you spread the word! As always, thank you for listening,
Nicolay

Mor Thiam - "Ayo Ayo Nene"
From Egon's blog of Madlib's European Tour:
Meanwhile, we got to browse through Gerald’s frighteningly diversified collection and peep the entire Mor Thiam album alongside Mehr Pooya’s Iranian album – including his 10 minute cover of Dennis Coffey’s “Scorpio.” Madlib ended up with one of his most wanted albums – Stefano Torrossi’s “Feelings,” and I ended up in the same place I was last year – with the Mor Thiam album on hold, and not a trade closer to getting Akon’s dad’s debut in my greedy palms.

Bad Habits (Snippet)
WAKE n' BACON
by Matty Sallin, Daniel Bartolini, Hsiao-huh Hsu
WHAT: An alarm clock that wakes you up with the smell and sizzle of cooking bacon.
WHY: No one likes to wake up, especially by an alarm. This clock gently wakes you up with the mouthwatering aroma of bacon, just like waking up on a Sunday morning to the smell of Mom cooking breakfast. Unless you're Jewish.
HOW: A frozen strip of bacon is placed in Wake n' Bacon the night before. Because there is a 10 minute cooking time, the clock is set to go off 10 minutes before the desired waking time. Once the alarm goes off, the clock it sends a signal to a small speaker to generate the alarm sound. We hacked the clock so that the signal is re-routed by a microchip that in responds by sending a signal to a relay that throws the switch to power two halogen lamps that slow-cook the bacon in about 10 minutes.
