Winter/Spring Sneaker Releases

Crooks & Castles x Vans Fremont High

Los Angeles-based Crooks & Castles will be joining the sneaker game by collaborating with skate shoe giant Vans. Based on the Fremont High model, it will come in white and black colorways with Crooks’ red/green/black strap accents reminiscent of Gucci’s high-end design. These are scheduled to be released early spring of ’09 and will only be sold at the 8021 store.

Nike Air Pegasus ‘89

It’s been about 20 years since the original release of the Nike Air Pegasus ‘89. They made their debut in the running circuit back in ‘89, and the legacy continues. They come in two original colorways, consisting of red and blue. Not only are the colorways original, the materials and design used to make the shoe are exactly the same. With a synthetic and suede upper, the shoe will last long and you won’t be disappointed. Ships in February with a limited release. Available at Hanon for pre-order now.

realmadHECTIC x mita x New Balance MT580 15th

realmadHECTIC and mita present their 15th generation MT580 done with New Balance. Never one to shy away from bold color combinations, the colorways seemingly continue on a 90s trip with colors such as Passion Flower and Cayenne thrown together on one of the two offerings. A release date is set for December 6th.

Taka Hayashi x Active x Vans “Drop Sneakers Not Bombs” Pack

Making a bid for Vans release of the year, the “Drop Sneakers Not Bombs” campaign by skate retailer Active continues with design efforts by Taka Hayashi. Both the classic Half Cab and J-Lay Mid models get a premium make-over with a wild assortment of leathers and materials. Both tonal sneakers have finally launched on Active’s online store with a full size run available (8-12), leaving size 13 heads like me disappointed.

A Bathing Ape 2008 Winter Bapesta

For those that don’t know, Nigo recently had a book signing for Bape’s 15th anniversary. It just shows what kind of progress he’s made. Bapesta is still coming strong and they prove that again with their latest release. The newest edition of the Bapesta shoe comes in 4 colors (orange, powder blue, burnt orange, and black). They’ll run you about 16,590 yen (approx. $178 USD). Available at all Bape flagship stores.
